Islamic group begins planting of 2000 trees at new site of FMC B/Kudu
The Birnin Kudu Local Government chapter of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam of Nigeria (JNI) has begun planting of 2,000 varieties of assorted trees at the premises of the new site of the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Birnin Kudu in Jigawa State.
The JNI chairman in the local government Malam Magaji Yahuza made this kown during the formal commencement of the tree planting at the new site of the hospital in Birnin Kudu on Tuesday.

He said the initiative was aimed at promoting the concept of green wall, environmental conservation, prevention of erosion and provision of shelter to those who patronise the center when completed.
He said the trees include 500 each of Mahogany, Moringa, Termarind and lollypop tree, saying “we would sustain the initiative.”
The chairman commended the Medical Director of the Center, Dr. Adamu Abdullahi Atterwahmie for his friendly disposition and hard work.
“We are embarking on this project of tree planting to encourage the management of the hospital in its zeal of executing development projects in the center” he said.
He explained that the hospital was established for over two decades but Dr Atterwahmie was the only medical Director who took the bull by the horn to establish the new site of the center.
Earlier in his remarks, the Medical Director commended the Islamic group for finding the center worthy of benefiting from the laudable initiative.
Atterwahmie said tree planting was a long term investment which the dividend would reap in both here and in the next world.
“Tree planting is a beneficial venture and even our revered prophet of Islam Muhammsd SAW, has called on humanity to embrace the good and rewarding culture of planting trees.
He warned livestock owners against grazing their animals at the portion where the trees were planted, saying we would put stringent measures against those who trespassed our land.
The Medical Director used the occasion to appreciate president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the minister of health Prof Ali Pate and his management team for their regular and timely support to the center.
Malam Aminu Ado Taura, the head of environment department of the hospital assured that the trees would be maintained.
“We would deploy adequate number of gardners who would on daily basis ensure maintenance of these trees they are assets of great significance to the hospital,” he said.
Our correspondent reports that an organization under the aegis of Birnin Kudu Youths Association has in the last three weeks planted no fewer than 2,150 variety of assorted trees at the new site of the Federal Medical Center.
