FMC B/Kudu Islamic group conducts free medical outreach on 1,902 patients
The Federal Medical Center Birnin Kudu chapter of the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN) says it has in the last one year conducted free medical outreach in Maigatari Local Government Area.
Malam Nafi’u Jibril Aliyu, the chapter’s chairman made the disclosure during the annual review of the activities of the group at the premises of the health facility in Birnin Kudu on Thursday.

He said the group has treated no fewer than 1,902 patients against different ailments, saying “we administered the treatments in five clinical areas that included General out patients, Paediatric and Opthalmology.”
He added that other clinical areas attended to were Psychiatric, Dental and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) saying the exercise was conducted successfully.
According to him, the association has during the last Ramadan fast fed 4,500 free for the period of 30 days.
Aliyu said the group has renovated the hospital mosque by upgrading the solar light and construction of ablution ground.
He said IMAN has within the period under review supported 148 patients with some cash to procure drugs prescribed to them in the center.
“We had conducted several health education talks across secondary schools and other public places, saying the health talks centered on diseases like cancer, water borne diseases, pelvic inflammatory disease and Water sanitation and hygiene,” he said.
He added that the group would expand the scope of its coverage to include more diseases and beneficiaries.
