Adamawa APC youth leader writes Fintiri, urges free, fair primaries
A youth leader in Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Hon. Khalil Sajoh has issued a passionate open letter to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, calling for justice, and entrenchment of internal democracy, and transparent primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In the strongly worded letter dated April 26, 2026, and copied to top APC stakeholders at the state and zonal levels, Sajoh cautioned against any attempt to impose candidates on party members, warning that such a move could destabilize the party and jeopardize its electoral prospects.

Addressing Governor Fintiri as both the Executive Governor of Adamawa State and leader of the APC in the state, Sajoh appealed to the governor to protect his political legacy by ensuring all aspirants are given a level playing field.
He described Fintiri as “a product of true democracy,” recalling how the governor rose to power through the popular will of the people in 2019 and secured reelection in 2023 based on performance, infrastructural development, and public trust.
According to Sajoh, Fintiri’s democratic journey should serve as a reminder that political legitimacy is best earned through open competition rather than manipulation.
“The majority of APC supporters, especially the youths who form a significant portion of the party’s voting strength, are not in support of imposition of candidates in any office,” Sajoh stated.
He argued that Adamawa’s political environment has evolved, with party members and young voters becoming increasingly conscious of the dangers of manipulated primaries and exclusionary politics.
Sajoh warned that repeating what he described as the mistakes of past elections could trigger internal rebellion, mass defections, and anti-party activities.
“If we impose candidates, our youths will resist, loyal members may leave, and others may remain only to sabotage the party from within,” he cautioned.
The youth leader noted that APC in Adamawa is already contending with underlying structural and political challenges, stressing that adding the burden of imposed candidacies could amount to “political suicide.”
He further urged the governor and party leadership to fear Allah, uphold justice, and allow all governorship, legislative, and local aspirants to test their popularity through transparent primaries.
Sajoh reminded the governor that history would judge current leaders not merely by infrastructure or political victories, but by whether they strengthened democratic institutions or weakened them through impunity.
