We’re ready for tomorrow’s primaries, won’t tolerate Imposition – Dan Maje warns APC
A frontline aspirant for the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmadu Hamman Nasara, popularly known as Dan Maje, has declared his readiness for the party’s primaries scheduled for tomorrow, warning against any attempt to impose candidates on party members.
Speaking during a press conference in Yola, the Adamawa politician stressed that the credibility of the APC primaries would determine the future strength and unity of the party in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dan Maje, who spoke in strong language, said party loyalists and aspirants were committed democrats who believed in transparency, fairness, and internal democracy, insisting that any arrangement aimed at producing “anointed candidates” would be resisted.
According to him, reports suggesting that certain names had already been pencilled down to emerge as candidates in the primaries were disturbing and capable of destroying the confidence of party members in the APC leadership.
“We have it on good authority that names of preferred aspirants have already been written and may be presented as candidates in tomorrow’s election,” he alleged.
“I want to clearly warn against such actions because they are dangerous to the future of the party and could ultimately lead to its downfall in Adamawa State,” he said.
The aspirant urged the national leadership of the APC and officials deployed to supervise the primaries in Adamawa to ensure openness in the process by publicly announcing their arrival, meeting with stakeholders, and clearly communicating the guidelines for the conduct of the exercise.
He maintained that transparency remained the only pathway to credible primaries capable of producing candidates who would enjoy the support of party members and the electorate.
Dan Maje also demanded that the party should make available all relevant electoral materials, including the party register and result sheets, for proper scrutiny by aspirants and their representatives to guarantee accountability.
He argued that withholding such materials or conducting the process in secrecy would fuel suspicion and deepen discontent among party faithful.
The APC chieftain warned that failure to conduct a free and fair primary election could trigger serious political consequences for the ruling party in Adamawa State.
According to him, many committed party members were already becoming frustrated by allegations of manipulation and exclusion, adding that continued disregard for democratic principles could weaken the APC’s electoral chances in future contests.
“Anything short of a transparent process will amount to a disaster for the party,” he stated.
He further warned that aggrieved stakeholders might withdraw their support for the APC if injustice prevailed during the primaries.
“I want to say with all seriousness that we will work towards the total defeat of the APC in 2027, including the president’s election in Adamawa State, if the right thing is not done,” he declared.
Dan Maje, however, noted that there was still an opportunity for the party leadership to restore confidence among members by ensuring a credible exercise.
He emphasized that only a free, fair, and acceptable primary election would guarantee the survival, unity, and electoral success of the APC in Adamawa ahead of the next general elections.
