Exclusion: Dr. Bakari calls for conduct of fresh APC guber primaries in Adamawa
A frontline Adamawa APC governorship aspirant, Dr. Salihu Bakari’s has decried the ommission of his name from the list of cleared aspirants during the All governorship primary election questioning the transparency and fairness of the exercise and calling for the conduct of fresh primaries in the state.
Dr. Bakari, in a formal protest at a press conference in Yola insisted that he fulfilled all constitutional and party requirements necessary to take part in the contest.

Bakari explained that he purchased the APC governorship nomination form, participated in the screening exercise organised by the party, and was never informed of any disqualification or adverse findings against him.
He noted that while some aspirants were officially marked “Not Cleared” by the screening committee, his name was completely absent from the final list released ahead of the primary election.
According to him, the failure to either clear or disqualify him officially has created suspicion and heightened concerns about due process..
Bakari, in his petition to the party leadership, described the omission as a violation of democratic principles, party guidelines, and the provisions of the Electoral Act. He argued that since he was neither disqualified nor invited before the appeal committee after screening, there was no legal or procedural basis for excluding him from the contest.
He maintained that candidates who failed to meet screening requirements were clearly identified on the published list, making his total omission difficult to justify.
The aspirant appealed to the APC National Chairman and the party’s appeal committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the omission, restore his name among cleared aspirants, and consider conducting a fresh primary election to ensure fairness and inclusiveness.
The politician reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and expressed confidence that the party leadership would act in the interest of justice, transparency, and internal democracy.
