An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Sen Abubakar Girei has lauded president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for putting up fair and balanced cabinet consisting of reputable professionals and thoroughbred technocrats and administrators.

He noted that such appointments is in tandem with the president’s resolve to bequeath a lasting legacy in line with his renewed hope agenda.

In a statement he made available to this paper on Thursday, the APC chieftain noted that each region of Nigeria has been carried along by the president noting that with such cabinet manned by eggheads and core professionals, he is optimistic that the government will achieve a lot of mileage in the nearest future.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has succeeded in coming up with a fairly balanced cabinet. He has succeeded in putting square pegs in square holes,” he said.

He particularly noted that the inclusion of Prof. Ali Pate as the minister of Health, Prof. Mamman Tahir as minister of Education, Engr. Dave Umahi as minister of works, Sen. Abubakar Kyari as minister of Agriculture, Barr. Nyesom Wike as minister of FCT, Architect Ahmed Dangiwa as minister of housing, Wale Edun as minister of finance and Festus Keyamo as minister of aviation will readily fast track the president’s resolve to turn around the fortunes of the country.

“I’m particularly happy that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given professionals, administrators and seasoned technocrats to oversee critical areas that need high expertise, professionalism and strong will to handle in order to fast track national development.

“The inclusion of people like Prof. Ali Pate as minister of Health, Prof. Mamman Tahir as minister of Education, Engr. Dave Umahi as minister of works, Sen. Abubakar Kyari as minister of Agriculture, Barr. Nyesom Wike as minister of FCT, Architect Ahmed Dangiwa as minister of Housing, Wale Edun as minister of Finance and Festus Keyamo as minister of aviation is really soothing and a right step in the right direction,” he said.

Girei expressed confidence that with such appointments, the president has eloquently succeeded in addressing the administrative leg of his government noting that what remains is for the president to focus on security which is the bedrock of peace unity and economic development.

“With these personalities manning such critical ministries, I’m optimistic that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. What the president needs to do now is to concentrate on Security and the Economy for peaceful coexistence and wealth creation to transform our dear nation to greatness and achieve his Renewed Hope agenda,” Girei said.

He also urged the president as a matter of urgency to fast track the release of palliatives to cushion the excruciating pains and hardships Nigerians are going through as a result of the subsidy removal.

“I wish to use this medium to appeal to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fast track the release of palliatives as Nigerians are going through tough times and excruciating pains since the removal of fuel subsidy. I believe this will go a long way in restoring lives and livelihood of the common Nigerian,” he said.
