End of year: JSRT reviews activities, draws action plans ahead of 2024
Adamawa State Justice Sector Reform Team (JSRT) has on Friday conducted a high powered strategic meeting in which the activities of the outgoing year were reviewed and action plans ahead of 2024 were drawn.
The activity was sponsored by UNFPA and Rolac Phase II.

During the meeting, a holistic post mortem of the activities of the outgoing year was carried out with a view to plan better ahead of 2024.
Some of the activities that came under the klieg light include; training of media executives and reporters, advocacy visit to chief judge and attorney general of the state on the need to appoint district prosecutors and production and distribution of simplified version of VAPP law.
During the meeting, presided by the chairman of the JSRT Mohammed Gangs, a work plan for 2024 was perfected.
Some of the activities drawn for the year include; training of lawyers, area court judges and magistrates on non custodial sentencing guidelines.
Others include; training of prosecutors and defense counsels on plea bargaining, sensitization and awareness campaign on fundamental Human Rights and Gender based violence, training on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, reviving the administration of criminal justice committee and refurbishing of the secretariat of ACJMC for better justice delivery in the state
The rest are training on proceeds of crime law, training of Justice Sector Reform Team on better coordination of Justice Sector delivery services and follow up with AG and CJ on the appointment of District Prosecutors and posting of district prosecutors to the various divisions of the state.
The chairman of the JSRT used the occasion to thank all members for their dedication and commitment which culminated in the successes recorded in 2023 and urged them to maintain the tempo in 2024 so as to fast track delivery of justice for the benefit of all citizens.
