7-yr-old hernia patient gets lifeline as Sen Yaroe conducts another medical outreach
A 7-year-old born hernia patient, Khalifa Ahmed has finally got a lifeline as the senator representing Adamawa South senatorial zone, Sen. Binos Dauda Yaroe conducted another round of medical outreach in Gyawana in Lamurde local government of Adamawa State where hundreds of indigent patients got free medical services.
The aged grand mother of the boy, Fatima Abubakar, who expressed monumental joy for the free surgery noted that the child has over the years lived in pain because of the ailment. She however noted that poverty prevented the family from treating him as the cost of surgery was beyond its reach.

“We took him to the hospital for treatment but we were told that for a surgery to be done, we have to spend over N90,000. Unfortunately, we don’t have such funds so we left the boy in pains all these years.
“But finally there was light at the end of the tunnel as we heard that the senator representing Adamawa South senatorial zone is going to sponsor the surgery free of charge. At first I thought it was a joke but as you can see, the surgery was a reality as the boy was relieved of this life threatening ailment this morning.
“I don’t have enough words to thank the senator for saving a soul and I will pray Allah to grant him all his life wishes. If we have kind spirited leaders like him, Nigeria would be a good place to live. I pray Allah to uplift him in leaps and bounds,” she said.
Announcing the commencement of the one day medical outreach, the team lead of health experts, Dr. Medan Jama said the medical outreach is expected to cover no fewer than 1,000 indigent patients.
He said during the exercise, hernia, and appendix patients will get free surgeries. He noted that the team will also provide free laboratory tests and a range of other assorted medical services during the outreach.
Medan urged the patients to maintain law and order and wait for their turn to be served as there are enough personnel, equipments and drugs to go round.
He thanked the senator representing Adamawa South for his untiring efforts at bringing succor to the populace through various interventions noting that no fewer than 60,000 indigent patients got free medical treatment since the senator started dispensing the free medical outreaches across every nook and cranny of the senatorial zone.
Also thanking the senator his DG campaign Boniface Katawan said more of such outreaches should be expected as the senator’s major priority is the healthy well being of his constituents.
He urged the people to continue their support to the PDP led administration as it poised to give them more dividends of democracy.
A number of dignitaries and PDP stalwarts including the chairman of Lamurde local government, the chairman of PDP in Lamurde local government, Ishaya Apolos and representatives of the traditional and religious institutions all applauded the senator for the wonderful humanitarian gesture.
