Make Adamawa varsity a center of excellence, Fintiri charges new governing council

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has charged the newly inaugurated governing council of Adamawa State University to turn around the fortunes of the institution and make it a first class citadel of learning in Nigeria.

Fintiri who made the charge during the inauguration of the five man governing council on Friday said he meticulously took time to select the best team which will deliver his dream of making the state university the Paragon of excellence.

“I have no doubt in my mind that this is one appointment that this administration, has once again got right as amply reaffirmed by the reactions we got from our people and the friends of Adamawa State worldwide.

‘I congratulate you all, just as I commend the process that led to your appointment which is in line with our administration’s commitment to tapping from the fountain of capable resources that abound in our dear state. Given your individual track records, networks, and experience, I am confident that the University and state government would benefit tremendously from you as a Council.

“Pro-chancellor, members of Council, from the countenance of everyone here, we can see that we are all on the same page regarding the future of the University and where we want it to be.
The role of the Governing Council may be almost invisible. Still, their impact is undoubtedly felt in the direction that the University is headed. Your position is very strategic. One of your core duties is overseeing and ensuring accountability on the part of the University’s management. This is a special call to duty and service,” he said.

Those inaugurated are; Professor Maxwell Gidado, Pro-Chancellor, Alhaji ALiyu Mohammed Gabdo, Mr Vidon Jaule, ⁠Dr Ali Danburam and Barr. Hapsat Abdullahi JImeta.
