Adamawa police arrest two over abduction, murder of six-year-old boy

Adamawa State police command has arrested two suspects Suspects, Muktar Mohammed, (20) and Hussein Suleiman, (20), all residents of Bashin Village, Yoro local Government Area of Taraba State over alleged abduction and murder of a six-year-old boy Eboka Edwin a resident of Tudun Wada in Ganye local government of the state.

A statement by the image maker of the state police command, SP Sulaiman Nguroje said the police command received a complaint from the father of the boy that the suspects have invaded his house at about 1:00am and abducted his son and demanded ten million (N10,000,000) ransom. He added that the suspects collected the sum of N152,000 from the father of the abducted child.

“Adamawa State Police Command, On 08/05/2024 received report from Edwin Eze a resident of Tudun Wada in Ganye LGA, that on the same date at about 1:00am Kidnappers envaded his House situated at Tudun Wada village, Ganye LGA and Kidnapped his 6 year old Son Eboka Edwin to unknown destination. The kidnappers later called via GSM and demanded Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000) as ransom. The suspects equally demanded and received 152 000 from the Complainant for the victim’ s feeding fee.

“On the strength of that, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), raised detectives led by SP Mohammed Yahaya Nuhu, Divisional Police officer,(DPO) Ganye to rescue the victim and arrest the Suspects.

“The team immediately swung into action and arrested two Suspects, Muktar Mohammed, aged 20 years old and Hussein Suleiman, aged , 20 years, all residents of Bashin Village, Yoro local Government Area, Taraba State.

“During preliminary investigations, the suspects confessed that he conspired and jointly kidnapped the victim to a forest lying across the border between Nigeria and Cameroon Republic.
They added that they killed the Victim by inflicting severe injuries on him using a knife, he bleeds until he becomes dead.Thereafter, they buried the Corpse in a shallow grave and kept demanding for ransom, until their arrest.

“While the CP commiserates with the deceased family on the unfortunate incident, reaffirms the Command’s commitment to combating all forms of crime.

The CP assured that the suspects would be investigated and diligently prosecuted,” the statement said.
