Adamawa ALGON elects new officials
• As Gangkuba, Tumba, Yahaya emerge, chairman, vice chairman, secretary
Shortly after the swearing-in of the 21 newly elected chairmen of local governments in Adamawa, the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has elected new officials.
Those elected including Sulaiman Gangkuba who will superintendent the association as the chairman, Dan Biyu Paul Tumba as the vice chairman and Idris Yahaya who was elected as secretary of the association.

Congratulating the new officials, governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri charged them to uphold transparency and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities.
A statement by the governor’s chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou counsels the new officials to maintain decorum and uphold the trust placed in them.
“The Governor congratulated the new officials after their election, which took place on Monday, shortly after the swearing-in of the newly elected Local Government Chairmen.
“The Governor reiterated that Local Governments in Adamawa have been granted autonomy five years ago, even before the Supreme Court judgment, and urged the new officials to utilize this independence to build on what their predecessors have achieved and serve their communities effectively.
“As new executives of ALGON, you have a great task ahead of you, and I wish you success in your endeavors,” Governor Fintiri said.
