Swearing-in of Adamawa LG chairmen: Nothing good will come out of a fraudulent process – Ardo
The leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Adamawa State, Dr. Umar Ardo has upbraided governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for charging the newly elected local government chairmen to live above board adding that nothing will come out of a process rooted in fraud, illegitimacy and impunity.
The governor has during the swearing-in of the 21 local government chairmen today at Ribadu square, charged them to uphold good governance so as to fast track development in their local governments.

But in a vitriolic screed made available to our paper this afternoon, the SDP leader in Adamawa urged Fintiri to go back to school in order to be tutored the nuances of good governance which can only be rooted in wholesomeness not impunity.
“For Gov. Fintiri to task his so-called elected Local Government Chairmen to deliver good governance, I think he needs to go back to school and read a little bit of psychology. I am giving him this advice because expecting good governance to emerge from a fraudulent process is like thinking that puérile eggs can magically produce a delicious, nice omelet.
“Just as puérile eggs are defective and incapable of producing something wholesome, the process he employed in bringing forth these Local Government Council members is inherently flawed and fraudulent, and cannot yield good governance.
“When he returns to school he will be thought that quality of an output (governance) is directly tied and proportionate to the quality of the input (process).
“Just as you wouldn’t trust a rotten egg to produce a tasty omelet, you shouldn’t expect a fraudulent process to produce good governance.
“It is therefore absurd of him to expect something positive to come from something fundamentally flawed. He should introspectively take his regime as an illustrative sign. Only a genuine and legitimate process is capable of achieving good governance,” he said.
The local government election which was conducted on Saturday has come under intense scrutiny over foul play, voter apathy, late arrival of materials and ballot vote stuffing amongst others as complaint by the chairmanship candidate of Labour Party in Michika local government, Anthony Zira.
It may be recalled that the major opposition political parties in the state namely the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) have all shunned the election over alleged failure of the Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led government to stick to the rules of the game.
