Sen. Yaroe partners NYSC, Livful to provide free medicare in Adamawa South
In his continued determination to improve healthcare in his constituency, Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, in collaboration with Livful Company and the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) Adamawa State Corps Welfare and Health Services, organized a free medical outreach at Banjiram Ward, Guyuk LGA, Adamawa State.
The event which held on October 5, 2024, saw a large turnout as over 1,500 residents received free medical consultations, diagnoses, treatments, and medication.

During the opening ceremony, Senator Binos expressed heartfelt gratitude to the community for their overwhelming support and attendance.
He emphasized that healthcare remains a cornerstone of his work as the Senator representing Adamawa Southern Zone, stating that “free medical outreach is a key focus for me, and this is why we’ve extended this initiative to several communities across the nine LGAs in my constituency. We want to ensure our people live healthy lives.”
He also explained his decision to partner with Livful, a Nigerian company that manufactures antimalarial products, to combat the prevalent issue of malaria in the community, especially during the rainy season when mosquitoes thrive due to increased vegetation around homes.
Acknowledging the large crowd, Senator Binos thanked the NYSC Adamawa chapter for their vital contribution.
“The NYSC has graciously deployed several corps members who are medical doctors to assist with consultations, given that this is a one-day program.”
Looking ahead, he announced plans for a four-day medical outreach in Numan in November, with Livful and the NYSC once again participating to address the community’s health challenges.
While expressing happiness for the rare gesture, rhe community head, Baba Monday Justine, praised Senator Binos for the timely intervention, remarking that they had never experienced such extensive healthcare support, at no cost.
“In the past, other organizations would charge us for similar services. What Senator Binos has done is truly heroic, and we are immensely grateful. This will greatly improve the health of our people,” he said.
Livful’s Life-Saving Innovation Ben Onyenze, team lead for Livful, highlighted the importance of their Akiva Anti-Malaria Lotion, designed to protect women and children from mosquito bites, particularly during pregnancy.
“This product is safe for pregnant women and children over two years old. It lasts 6-12 hours, offering crucial protection indoors and outdoors.
His remarks emphasized Livful’s commitment to tackling malaria, one of the region’s major health concerns.
NYSC and Medical Corps expressed enthusiasm about future engagements. Representative of NYSC, Suleiman AbdulKarim, who stood in for the State Coordinator Samson Atilo, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Senator Binos.
“We were elated when the Senator approached us for this collaboration. It’s our first time conducting such an outreach in this community, and we’re eager to do more in the future,” he said.
The NYSC Corps Welfare and Health Services were instrumental in managing the large turnout of patients. Successful Surgeries and Lifesaving Interventions
Dr. Jama D. Medan, coordinator of the medical outreach revealed that they successfully conducted four surgeries, including hydrocelectomies and herniorrhaphies, and provided care for various ailments, such as diabetes amongst other diseases.
“We consulted and treated 1,500 people today, including women and children.
Some cases were referred to the teaching hospital in the state capital for further treatment,” he said.
The turnout was extraordinary, and we are optimistic about the upcoming outreach in Numan,” Dr. Medan shared.
Patients expressed deep gratitude for the free medical care they received. Dahiru Yusuf, the legal advisor for APC Banjiram Ward, shared his personal relief after receiving treatment for diabetes, elephantiasis, and schistosomiasis.
“I’ve been unable to farm for three months due to my condition, but thanks to Senator Binos, I received enough medication to last 100 days. What’s most commendable is the unbiased nature of this outreach—no political or religious affiliations, just help for those in need,” Yusuf remarked.
Seventy-four-year-old Janar Bison, who had suffered from hernia and hydrocele for 16 years, also expressed his heartfelt thanks after undergoing successful surgery.
“I couldn’t afford treatment for years, but now, thanks to this outreach, I’ve had my surgery and received medication to help me recover. I am immensely grateful.”
Forty-year-old Aniguana Luka, who was treated for typhoid and malaria, also thanked the Senator, praising the outreach for its timeliness amid the challenges of hunger, poverty, and poor health.
The one-day outreach ended on a high note, with an outpouring of praise and gratitude from the community. Residents now eagerly anticipate the upcoming four-day medical outreach in Numan, where Senator Binos, Livful, and the NYSC will once again join forces to bring healthcare to those in need.
