Beneficiary of Sen Yaroe’s solar training gains admission in Russia amidst fresh empowerment of 250 persons

It was a celebration galore during the flag off of the second phase of 5-day solar training for 250 women and youth in Adamawa south senatorial zone organized by senator Binos Dauda Yaroe as one of the former beneficiaries of the training, Bokono Nathan announced gaining admission in Russia.

While urging the new beneficiaries not to fritter away the unique opportunity to be financially independent, he said the training is a game changer and will provide a life long opportunities for those who mastered the solar energy systems because of its high demand.

” I was one of the beneficiaries of the previous training. I have acquired a lot of knowledge. Through this knowledge I participated in portfolio competition with the Russian government. With the help of the certificate I got during the training, my chances were boosted.

” I was one of the best in the portfolio competition with the help of the certificate. I participated in a lot of solar installations within my local environment and outside my local environment. I’m encouraging the participants to invest their time and energy in this one because it is a life changing opportunity,” he said.

Re-affirming the position of Nathan, Eng Ibrahim T. Bayo, a staff of energy commission of Nigeria and one of the resource persons who was involved in the first training also disclosed that the previous training recorded high success rate as over 50 percent of beneficiaries are financially independent.

“Over 50 percent of those who received training during the first exercise are self employed and doing very well. We have been following up with them through a WhatAapp group we created. They have been engaged in solar PV system businesses. Some of them are installing solar systems and solar borehole systems. Each time they have challenges beyond their capabilities, we guide them. I can assure you the success rate has been fantastic,” he said.

Bayo said the training is being supported by two companies Ajagba Nigeria Limited and Retedy Resource Nigeria Limited noting that at the end of the training, participants will be expected to design, maintain, repair and install solar PV systems.

Also thanking the senator for his prompt response to the issue of unemployment, Adamawa State commissioner of women affairs, Neido Geoffrey Kofulto, said the benefit of the training considering the immense opportunities in the solar energy sector could not be overemphasized.

She urged the beneficiaries especially the women amongst them to pay attention to details during the training so that the overall purpose for which it was organized will be achieved.

She expressed government’s willingness to continue to support such activities in line with governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s resolve to alleviate poverty and create wealth in the state.

In his address at the occasion, the representative of Sen Binos Dauda Yaroe, Katawan Boniface said the new training involved 60 women and 190 men.

He added that Sen Yaroe deemed it fit to upscale the training to 250 persons considering the huge success of the last training which provided job opportunities for many beneficiaries adding that the fact that one of the beneficiaries got overseas admission is a pointer to the success of the training.

Boniface said the training has become imperative in view of the massive opportunities in the solar sector coupled with the abundance of sunlight in the senatorial zone urging the participants to reciprocate the gesture by being attentive as the training lasts.

He said the senator will also organize similar training for people living with disability in order to ensure the involvement of everyone in his empowerment drive adding that 28 beneficiaries were selected from each of the nine local governments of the senatorial zone.

Also appreciating the senator, the chairman of the host local government, Numan, Mr. Innocent Koto expressed tremendous respect for Sen Yaroe for his propensity to fulfill campaign promises.

“I must express sincere appreciation to our senator for fulfilling electoral promises. He has promised to empower the youths and he has fulfilled that promise today. One of the youths he trained has got admission to study in Russia. Wonderful things will continue to happen to this senatorial zone because of the futuristic leadership of Senator Yaroe. May God continue to give him the strength, long life and energy to continue with these giant strides,” Koto said.
