Ignore fake news, Adamawa Health Insurance still in operation – Exec Sec
Dr. Ujulu Amos, Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Contributory Health Management Agency (ASCHMA), has reassured civil servants that the state’s health insurance scheme is still operational despite rumors of its suspension. The scheme, established by law in 2020, has over 170,000 registered beneficiaries, including civil servants, vulnerable individuals, and families.
A recently expired contract with healthcare facilities and maintenance organizations sparked anxiety among civil servants, with some being told that the program had been stopped. However, Dr. Ujulu clarified that the contract’s expiration was a routine process, and a two-month extension has been granted to ensure uninterrupted services.

Dr. Ujulu emphasized that the agency is a statutory institution, established by law, and cannot be stopped by individual decisions. He urged civil servants to disregard rumors and continue accessing healthcare services at registered facilities. For any issues, they can contact the agency’s call center using the number on their ID cards.
The Adamawa State Ministry of Health has also launched various initiatives to promote healthcare access and quality, including Maternal and Child Health Services, Preventive Health Programs, Specialized Medical Services, and Primary Healthcare. These efforts aim to improve the overall health status of the population and create a foundation for sustainable well-being.
