Post-Sallah operation: Police nab seven suspected Shilla Boys in Adamawa
In swift response to a distress call received on June 9, 2025, operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have apprehended seven suspects involved in a violent robbery along the Federal Housing area in Bajabure, Girei Local Government Area a statement by SP Sulaiman Nguroje, the spokesman of Adamawa State Police command has disclosed.
The suspects, believed to be members of the notorious criminal gang known as the “Shilla Boys,” allegedly attacked unsuspecting members of the public, dispossessing them of their belongings while brandishing dangerous weapons and instilling fear among residents.

The state added that acting promptly, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Viniklang Division and his team mobilized to the scene and successfully arrested the following individuals:
1. Ja’afar Umar, 16 years
2. Bulama Abba, 15 years
3. Dalha Mohammed, 16 years
4. Saidu Abba, 18 years
5. Safiyanu Yunusa, 15 years
6. Mohammed Abubakar, 15 years
7. Abba Ibrahim, 15 years
All suspects are residents of Jambutu, Yola North Local Government Area.
Items recovered from the suspects include a total sum of ₦12,350, one dagger and two GSM phones, all of which have been documented as exhibits.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC (+), has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case for thorough investigation and diligent prosecution.
The Command reiterates its unwavering commitment to ensure the safety and security of all residents of Adamawa State.
