CITN Yola & District Society Holds AGM, Elects New Executives
The Yola & District Society of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) has successfully conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, 16th August 2025, where new executive members emerged to steer the affairs of the Society.
According to the Secretariat Report presented at the meeting, a total of 83 members were registered under the Society, out of which 51 were financially up to date. Out of the number, 35 members participated in the voting process.

According to the Secretary General of the organization, Barr. Fatima Raji, the election was conducted in line with the Institute’s constitution and electoral guidelines, with members commending the process as free, fair, and transparent.
She noted that the keenly contested position of Deputy Vice Chairman saw three aspirants vying for the seat.
“At the end of the polls, El Maunde Jibril polled 17 votes, Yahya Ba Dikko scored 13 votes, while Michael Adesola secured 5 votes. Other executive positions were returned unopposed,” Raji said.
Those elected to lead the Society include: Musa Zirakwamgbe, FCTI as Chairman; Mohammed Danjuma, ACTI as Vice Chairman, Deputy Vice Chairman, El Maunde Jibril Ph.D, Barr. Fatima Bello Raji, FCTI as General Secretary; Bernard Basason, FCTI as Assistant General Secretary; Kabiru Wuropatuji, FCTI as Honorary Treasurer; and Raymond Ibrahim, ACTI as Financial Secretary. Others are Musa Bitrus Shalmor, FCTI as Social and Publicity Secretary; Barr. Abubakar A. Kawu as Legal Adviser; and Augneetah Leslie Bongi as SWIT Coordinator.
Delivering the Secretariat Report, the General Secretary, Barr. Fatima Bello Raji, noted that the AGM not only fulfilled constitutional requirements but also provided a platform for members to deliberate on critical issues affecting the Society.
She assured members that the new leadership team was committed to build on past achievements while prioritizing professional development, accountability, and visibility of the Institute within the region.
Members present at the AGM expressed confidence in the new executive, urging them to work collectively in advancing the objectives of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria in Yola and its environs.
The meeting concluded with a vote of confidence in the process and a renewed call for all members to remain financially committed and actively engaged in the activities of the Society.
