Endorsement of Dasin-led ctee; Jada faults Bolaji vows to defend Komsiri’s Leadership
The crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State has deepened as the party’s North-East Zonal Organizing Secretary and National Assistant Organizing Secretary, Umar Bello Jada, aka Calculate has rejected the endorsement of the Sadiq Dasin-led Transition Implementation Committee by the national publicity secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi saying it was not ratified by the NWC of the party.
In an exclusive interview, Jada described the statement which claimed that the national secretariat had recognized the Dasin-led committee, as “improper, illegitimate, and an insult to due process.”
He alleged that a clique within the national leadership was manipulating internal structures to impose their whims on the Adamawa chapter for personal interest.
“This statement by Bolaji Abdullahi is not the voice of the National Working Committee (NWC). I don’t want to believe it came from them because the real members of the NWC understand law, order, and procedure. It is the handiwork of Babachir working in cahoots with a friend to protect him. It’s a joke taken too far,” he said.
According to Jada, the zonal organ of the party was neither consulted nor informed about the formation of the so-called Transition Implementation Committee or any such committee to look into the Adamawa leadership dispute.
“We at the Zonal Working Committee were never part of any decision to set up such committees. Suddenly, we just saw names circulating on social media, claiming to represent the zone. We never appointed anybody,” he stated.
He revealed that the names of four individuals, including “ Gen Bauka and Sadiq,” appeared in a post alleging they were part of a zonal approved panel to mediate in our leadership crisis. The constitution of that committee was done unilaterally which robbed it of the needed constitutional premise required by it to operate.
“We have not seen any official document or report of any committee. Nobody briefed us, nobody invited us. This is an illegality that cannot stand,” Jada maintained.
Jada emphasized that the Transition Implementation Committee differs fundamentally from the legitimate State Working Committee. According to him, the transition body, composed largely of elders and former officials, was intended as an advisory group without executive powers.
“There is nowhere in the party guidelines that the Transition Implementation Committee is given authority to act as a State Working Committee. The existing and recognized structure in Adamawa remains the Saidu Komsiri-led working committee, which consists of 44 duly constituted members. That is the only valid leadership of the ADC in Adamawa State, nothing more, nothing less,” he said.
Jada further rejected attempts to elevate Sadiq Dasin as the substantive leader of the party in Adamawa. He described Dasin as inexperienced and lacking in discipline, insisting that his record and conduct have alienated him from genuine stakeholders.
“Sadiq is too junior, and he doesn’t have the temperament to lead. He’s the type of person who bends the law when it doesn’t suit his purpose. That’s why he has been rejected by all critical stakeholders across the 21 local governments,” Jada declared.
The embattled zonal secretary also accused Babachir David Lawal of co-opting compromised friends in his desire to hijack the Adamawa structure for his own political gain. He also dismissed insinuations stating that the APC is the unseen hand behind the party’s interactbale leadership imbroglio.
“This crisis is not the work of APC or any external influence. It is purely internal sabotage driven by personal interests,” he alleged.
Jada warned that such manipulations, if left unchecked, could destroy the ADC’s credibility nationwide.
“When you deceive the people and manipulate structures at the top, you are inviting a total collapse of the party. These deceptive actions can crumble the ADC entirely,” he cautioned.
He challenged the party’s national leadership to produce verifiable records of the purported decisions that led to the dissolution of the former Yohanna-led executive and the appointment of the Dasin-led team.
“Let them come on national television and show us minutes of the meeting where such a decision was taken. Let’s see the signatures, the members present, and the documents. We demand transparency,” he declared.
Jada reaffirmed his loyalty to the recognized Komsiri-led structure and vowed to resist any attempt to impose leaders on the Adamawa chapter.
He said the zonal working committee and majority of members across the state remain firmly behind the caretaker chairman, Mallam Saidu Njobdi Komsiri, and will not yield to what he called “backdoor politics.”
“The people have spoken through their representatives across the 21 local governments. We are in the majority, we are united, and we are not backing down. Come rain, come sunshine, we will defend the Komsiri leadership and ensure that justice and due process prevail in the ADC,” he said.
