Yola 2025: FEPSGA holds pre-games seminar

The 44th edition of the Federal Public Service Games (FEPSGA) tagged Yola 2025 has commenced with its annual pre-games seminar held in one of the venues of the games.
The pre-games seminar drew dignitaries from both the state and federal levels of government, including the Adamawa State Head of Service, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Director of Sport as well as a large turnout of athletes from various Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), boards, and parastatals across the Federation and the FCT.

The seminar featured presentations delivered by respected professionals in the fields of health and physical education, drug abuse prevention, fitness, and other essential areas relevant to sports and athlete welfare.
In his opening remarks, the President of FEPSGA, Comrade Aluku Amaebi, expressed appreciation to the Adamawa State Government for hosting the 2025 Games in Yola, noting the availability of modern and well-maintained sporting facilities.
He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for being the first governor to implement the new minimum wage in the state, a gesture he described as impactful for civil servants nationwide.
Comrade Amaebi further assured all elderly athletes and participants that FEPSGA 2025 would be a hitch-free and memorable event.
The Adamawa State Head of Service, Pharm. Shehu Isa Ardo, mni, who is also the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), represented the Governor at the seminar.
He warmly welcomed all athletes and contingents to Adamawa State, emphasizing the state’s reputation as peace-loving and sports-loving.
Pharm. Ardo encouraged participants to enjoy the festival of sports, assuring them of adequate security and smooth coordination throughout the duration of the Games. He then formally declared the 2025 FEPSGA Games open.

The seminar featured insightful papers delivered by seasoned professionals, including:
Mr. Musa Baba, Dr. Lot Luka (MD, MPH)
and Pharm. Zirra Matthias Bubanoni.
The speakers educated participants on critical topics such as drug abuse and its dangers, physical fitness and exercise
health and safety practices in sports.
Other issues raised are financial education and personal development
general wellness and responsible behaviour for athletes
Their presentations were interactive, informative, and tailored to enhance the preparedness and performance of all athletes in the forthcoming Games.
