Defending champs knocked in semi finals of 7th Nimord U-20 YSFON tournament

Defending champions of the Engr. Musa Nimord Under-20 Male YSFON Football Competition have been knocked out of the ongoing seventh edition, as thrilling quarter-final encounters produced new semi-final contenders.
In the opening quarter-final match played earlier Hong Ward staged an impressive performance to defeat reigning champions Shagui Ward by two goals to one. The hard-fought victory ended Shagui Ward’s title defence and secured Hong Ward a deserved place in the semi-finals of the competition.

The encounter lived up to expectations, with both sides displaying determination and youthful energy. However, Hong Ward capitalized on their scoring chances and showed greater composure to edge past the defending champions.
In another quarter-final clash, Daksiri Ward recorded a convincing 3–1 victory over Mayo-Lope Ward. Daksiri dominated large spells of the game, combining solid defending with swift attacking moves to overwhelm their opponents.
With the win, Daksiri Ward has also progressed to the semi-final stage and will now await the outcome of the fourth quarter-final match to know their next opponent.
The competition, organized under the auspices of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), continues to attract growing interest, showcasing young football talents from different wards and communities.
The grand final of the tournament is slated for Sunday at the Hong Stadium, where the finalists will battle for supremacy.
Organizers have promised mouth-watering prizes for the winners, adding extra motivation as the competition heads into its decisive stages.
