The upgrade, which is being implemented in phases, encompasses the replacement of recline cables, rehabilitation of transformers and other critical infrastructure improvements designed to reduce downtime, minimize feeder faults, and boost overall network resilience.
Key technical enhancements include:
• Installation of high-capacity transformers to enhance power distribution efficiency.
• Deployment of advanced metering infrastructure to improve billing accuracy and reduce technical losses.
• Upgrading distribution lines, including poles, to reduce fault incidence and improve voltage stability.
According to a statement by Blessing Tunoh, the image maker of the company, while these works are progressing, some customers may experience temporary interruptions due to the accelerated pace of work, which is designed to expedite project delivery.
She said the upgraded network is expected to deliver improved power stability, reduce outage frequency, and enhanced customer satisfaction.

She said, the ongoing rehabilitation, which is the first phase of the project, is on track for completion by December 20th, ahead of the original schedule.
