2026 Council polls: ADC conducts party primaries in Demsa LGA
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State on Tuesday, December 22, 2025, successfully conducted its primary election, producing consensus candidates for the forthcoming local government elections.
The exercise was coordinated by Comrade Ready Boniface, the ADC Chairman in Demsa LGA and ALGON Chairman of the party in Adamawa State. Although initially conceived as a simple and modest internal party process, the primary election turned out to be a large gathering, attracting a wide spectrum of party members, stakeholders, delegates, and observers from across the local government area.

The primary election was held at the ADC Local Government Secretariat in Demsa, where proceedings were described as orderly, transparent, and peaceful. Party members commended the leadership of the ADC for the maturity and integrity displayed throughout the exercise, noting that the process reflected internal democracy and collective agreement among stakeholders.
According to party officials, all candidates emerged through consensus following extensive consultations involving ward executives, local government executives, and delegates of the party. The approach, they said, helped to promote unity and reduce internal rivalry ahead of the elections.
At the end of the exercise, Hon. Denis A. Kakaba emerged as the ADC Chairmanship Candidate for Demsa Local Government Area. For the councillorship positions, the party presented candidates across the various wards. Hon. Limo Bulus was selected for Demsa Ward, while Hon. Keston Hoston emerged as the councillorship candidate for Mbula Ward. Hon. Ornan Thomas clinched the ticket for Bille Ward, and Hon. Isaak Ezekiel was chosen to represent Kpasham Ward.
Other councillorship candidates include Hon. Emmanuel John for Gwamba Ward, Hon. Nemuel Agabus Brona for Dilli Ward, Hon. Albert Sumo for Dwam Ward, and Hon. Simon Lawan Mylon for Dong Ward. Hon. Hamza Abdullahi emerged as the councillorship candidate for Nasarawo Demsa, while Hon. Friday Farinjini was selected to fly the party’s flag in Borrong Ward.
The entire process was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), with Mr. Morrison Istifanus, Assistant Resident Electoral Officer, officiating and overseeing the conduct of the primaries. His presence, party leaders noted, added credibility and transparency to the exercise.
The outcome of the primary election was jointly endorsed by Hon. Amb. Ready Boniface, Demsa LGA ADC Party Chairman, and Hon. Jalo Elhabs, the Returning Officer. The party leadership expressed optimism that the consensus-driven process would strengthen the ADC’s chances in the forthcoming local government polls and foster unity within the party ranks across Demsa LGA.
