The futility of Dasin’s clandestine anti-democratic voyage in ADC

Another cheap fraud aimed at undermining democracy which I will christen the Sadiq Dasin misfire, has just unraveled before our very eyes.
The poorly disguised and ill-fated attempt to undermine democracy by Dasin has once again collapsed under the weight of its own contradictions and subversions.
What was started as a covert political maneuver has imploded with a loud bang and exposed the desperation and futility of a scheme that was doomed from the outset on the alter of its surfeit illegalities and contradictions.
Many observers wonder why Sadiq Dasin, a legal practitioner who ought to appreciate that democracy survives only on the alter of respect and adherence to the rule of law, order, transparency, and broad participation is the one accepting to play the role of the undertaker in Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress ADC.
His intemperate display of valiance and arrogance in prosecuting the shady job makes us all to believe he is a turncoat and a willing mercenary doing the hatchet bidding of our opponents to destroy our party.

In a spectacular and stunning departure from the noble principles of democracy, we are all witnesses to how Dasin is deploying arrogance, personal vendetta and political obsession to override legal reasoning, sound judgment, and basic democratic norms.
The clandestine orchestration of this sordid enterprise was so crude that even the most casual political observer could see through it.
Therefore, serious stakeholders, prepared by years of activism in the political trenches, quickly recognized it for what it was: a desperate and puerile attempt to short-circuit the democratic process. It is therefore baffling that Dasin, fully aware of the consequences, chose to associate himself with such an intellectually bankrupt adventure.
At its core, this misadventure was driven by a fixation on frustrating the gubernatorial ambition of Senator Aishatu Binani. From every indication, the plot was deliberately designed to manipulate processes, exclude key stakeholders, and impose an outcome that could not be achieved through open competition or popular support. Such conduct represents the highest travesty on internal party politics which shall be resisted vehemently and vigorously.
The scheme was reportedly hatched by a narrow and unpopular clique working in concert with elements who dread transparency and fair contest. Because of the mortal fear of defeat they nurtured and could not withstand the Binani Armageddon, test of popularity and electoral legitimacy, they resorted to contrived meetings, manufactured narratives, and the dangerous fantasy of a so-called consensus candidacy.
Contrary to the misleading narrative being peddled, Adamawa ADC stakeholders are not a handful of individuals but a broad and formidable body of leaders, including Atiku Abubakar (Waziri Adamawa), Senator Aishatu Binani, Senator Ahmed Barata, and many other respected figures.
To our chagrin and utmost surprise, none of these stakeholders was invited to, consulted on, or informed of any purported meeting to elect a transition leadership. The exclusion alone invalidates the entire exercise and exposes it as a hollow charade.
The attempt to rewrite reality to mask this fraud only deepens its failure. Rather than weaken Senator Binani’s ambition, the episode has reinforced her standing as a victim of anti-democratic scheming and underscored the fear her popularity inspires among her opponents.
History has shown that political ambitions anchored on manipulation and secrecy invariably collapse. This episode is no exception. The people remain the ultimate arbiters, and no amount of clandestine plotting can overturn their will.
Those who believe democracy can be subverted to settle old scores should prepare for a rude awakening at the field of contest. The verdict of the people will be decisive.
History is on the side of the oppressed.
