Adamawa ADC commences membership registration, promises hitch free exercise
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State has officially commenced its Membership Mobilisation, Revalidation and Registration (MMRR) exercise, marking what party leaders describe as a new chapter after months of internal restructuring and leadership harmonisation.
The registration exercise, drew party loyalists from across the state, signaling renewed enthusiasm and commitment to ensure the success of the membership drive.

Addressing supporters at the gathering, the MMRR State Alternative Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Yaya Nuhu, said the exercise was not just about registering members but about repositioning the ADC as a formidable political force in the state. He maintained that the party is determined to conduct a hitch-free and transparent registration process despite earlier setbacks.
According to him, the ceremony was also convened to administer the oath of allegiance and swear in state and local government officials mandated to supervise the MMRR exercise across the 21 local government areas.
Barrister Hassan Ahmadu Har, who administered the oath, charged the newly sworn-in officials to remain fair, impartial and guided by both the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the party’s constitution. He stressed that discipline and adherence to due process would be vital in consolidating the party’s credibility.
The State Chairman of the ADC, Comrade Shehu K. Yohanna, used the occasion to address concerns over alleged factionalization within the party. He dismissed claims that the ADC in Adamawa was divided, insisting that the party remains united under a harmonized leadership.
“ADC in Adamawa has come to stay. We are on the path of victory and success,” he declared, calling on residents of the state to join what he described as a growing political movement aimed at offering credible alternatives in governance.
Yohanna acknowledged that the party had faced hiccups during its reorganization, including disruptions linked to Ambassador Suleiman Umarana. However, he emphasized that those challenges have not derailed the registration process. Instead, he said, the experience has strengthened internal mechanisms and clarified leadership structures.
To demonstrate the growing interest in the party, the chairman revealed that 50,000 membership cards are currently in his custody, with demand already exceeding the available supply. He added that another batch of 50,000 cards is with Ambassador Suleiman Umar, who is also registering new members.
“The number of people showing interest is more than the cards we currently have. That tells you the level of acceptance the ADC is receiving,” he said.
Key party stakeholders including Umar Bello Jada note that the successful launch of the MMRR exercise signals a broader strategy by the ADC to consolidate its grassroots base ahead of 2027.
He said with the large turnout at the kickoff event and strong support from its leaders, the ADC in Adamawa State remains the most viable political vehicle in Adamawa which is poised to grab power for the good of the people.
He expressed confidence that the massive goodwill, internal cohesion and renewed unity the party is enjoying will translate into electoral strength in the coming political cycle.
