Adamawa new works commissioner vows to consolidate infrastructure delivery
The newly appointed Adamawa State Commissioner for Works, Muhammed Suleiman, has formally assumed office with a strong pledge to deliver on his mandate and consolidate ongoing infrastructural development across the state.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Yola shortly after being sworn in by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Suleiman expressed deep gratitude to the governor for entrusting him with the responsibility.

He described his appointment as both an honour and a call to greater service, assuring residents that he would bring his wealth of experience to bear in advancing the ministry’s objectives.
He noted that his return to the Ministry of Works was emotional, given that it is the institution where he began his professional journey and rose through the ranks to become a Permanent Secretary.
According to him, the ministry represents more than just a workplace—it is a foundation that shaped his career and commitment to public service.
“It feels good to return home and continue contributing to the growth and transformation of a ministry that played a central role in my professional development,” he said.
Drawing from his previous experience within the Fintiri administration, Suleiman emphasized that he possesses a clear understanding of the government’s vision and strategic direction, particularly in the area of infrastructure.
He commended the administration’s achievements, noting that the scale and pace of infrastructural development witnessed in recent years are both remarkable and unprecedented.
He further stressed that his background as a technocrat and a registered engineer positions him uniquely to handle the demands of the office.
Suleiman assured that he would focus on efficiency, quality project delivery, and the timely execution of government initiatives aimed at improving road networks and public infrastructure across Adamawa State.
The commissioner also called for collaboration, urging staff of the ministry, relevant stakeholders, and the media to support his efforts. He underscored the importance of teamwork and transparency in achieving sustainable development goals and meeting public expectations.
“I cannot do this alone. The cooperation of ministry staff and the support of the media are critical to ensuring that we meet our targets and deliver projects that will stand the test of time,” he added.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, Dogara Musa, described Suleiman’s appointment as well-deserved. He praised the governor’s decision, noting that the new commissioner’s familiarity with the system and past contributions to infrastructural development make him well-suited for the role.
Musa assured Suleiman of the full cooperation and support of the ministry’s staff, expressing confidence that his leadership would further strengthen service delivery and accelerate ongoing projects across the state.
