Adamawa APC kicks off presidential, NASS campaign, predicts sweeping victory in 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has formally commenced its presidential and National Assembly electioneering campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections, with party leaders expressing confidence in a decisive victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates across the state.
The campaign flag-off, held in Yola on Wednesday, was inaugurated by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who was represented at the event by his deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta.

Addressing party supporters at the ceremony, Farauta called on Adamawa voters to rally behind Tinubu and all APC candidates, from the presidential contest down to National Assembly and other elective positions.
She described the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration as laudable, saying the campaign launch provided an opportunity for the people of Adamawa to acknowledge what she described as the President’s efforts to reposition Nigeria for development.
Farauta also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to support Tinubu and APC candidates, urging party supporters to work collectively to translate the campaign into electoral victory.
The deputy governor declared that the APC would take its campaign directly to the people, announcing an extensive door-to-door mobilisation strategy across the state.
“We should all vote for APC from top to bottom and from bottom to top,” she said, adding that the party would go “door-to-door, house to house, village to village” and work shoulder-to-shoulder with its supporters to secure an overwhelming victory in Adamawa.
Speaking on behalf of the APC’s National Assembly candidates, the party’s senatorial candidate for Adamawa Central, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, described the commencement of the campaign as the beginning of what he termed a “new era” for Nigeria.
Salihu urged voters to support President Tinubu, APC National Assembly candidates and other party flag bearers, arguing that continued support for the party would enable the administration to sustain its development initiatives.
He also expressed appreciation to Tinubu for providing the candidates with a platform to take their programmes and policy propositions directly to the electorate.
According to Salihu, the campaign should not merely be viewed as a routine electoral exercise but as an opportunity for APC candidates to explain their agenda to voters and seek a mandate to consolidate ongoing development efforts.
The state APC chairman, Bello Madagali, also used the occasion to commend party members and supporters for what he described as an impressive turnout.
Madagali urged party loyalists to sustain the mobilisation across the “nooks and crannies” of Adamawa, stressing the need to maintain momentum ahead of the elections.
Also speaking, Zakari Hashimu, North-East zonal coordinator of the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement, pledged an ambitious mobilisation drive for President Tinubu.
Hashimu said the movement was targeting 10 million votes for Tinubu to enable the President to consolidate the gains of his administration.
The Adamawa campaign is also coming against the backdrop of significant political realignments ahead of 2027, with the APC seeking to consolidate its position following the defection of Governor Fintiri to the party earlier in the year.
