Three suspected kidnappers land in police net in Adamawa

Adamawa State police command has arrested three suspected kidnappers following a tip off by persons whom the trio threatened to kidnap.

A statement by the image maker of the state police command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said the commissioner of police is doing everything possible to reduce crime and criminality to the bearest minimum.

“Further to the command’s reinvigorated special action plan on the ongoing fight against Banditry, Kidnapping, armed Robbery and other violent crimes across the state.

“The command on the 29/4/2022 and 3/5/2022 received report from one Alhaji Ibrahim Bayo, Alhaji Abdulkarim Bayo and Alhaji Bala Hamman all residents of Mayo Belwa and Ganye local government areas that unknown subscribers using separate GSM numbers threatened to kidnap them if they didn’t pay the ransom of 10,000,000.

“The suspects; Maigari Adamu (24), Usman Ali (20), and Awal Hammawa (31), all residents of Tazaco ward and Wuro Chekke in Fufore and Yola South local governments .

“The Commissioner of police S.K Akande while commending the gallantry of the OC SIB and Men of the Bureau, Noted that the command’s Rescue me Apps Operation is a good initiative and will critically evaluate the pattern and trend of crimes in the State.

“He assured of massive and well-planned deployment of both Human and other operational assets of the Command to reinforce and consolidate on keeping Adamawa safe especially on this political period.

‘The Command is leveraging on the technological drive of policing by emphasizing on the Rescue me Apps as a means of reporting and responding Operations is aimed at preventing and detecting of crime. It will also ensure that all arrested and their collaborators are brought to book.

“The CP assured the Government and good people of Adamawa state that the Command shall continue to do all within its powers to guarantee a stable security order across the State especially now, that people are preparing for the forthcoming political activities. He calls on the civil populace to work with the Police and other security agencies in the joint tasks of safeguarding our State, especially in the area of providing useful, relevant and timely information,” he said.
