Three in police custody over alleged rape of 15-year-old minor in Adamawa

Hassan Nasir, 25-year-old Uzairu Dan Fulani and 26-year-old Yahaya Edward lured the girl who boarded a tricycle from Mayo Belwa to Ngurore where they diverted behind Cottage Hospital in Mayo -Belwa and forcefully dragged her into a certain house and had an unlawful carnal knowledge of her without her consent.

“The incident was reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Mayo Belwa by a relative of the victim which resulted to their arrest.
“The Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola expressed worry over the unfortunate incident, and directed the officer in charge of Family Support Unit of the Command to take over investigation and ensure diligent prosecution in accordance with the extant laws.
“The Police Boss calls on the General public especially parents to be watchful of their wards and key into the Command’s effort in fighting against all forms of Gender based violence(GBV) and report person(s) of suspicious Character to the Police,” Nguroje said.
