
Public safety: Adamawa CP deploys police around hotels, warns fake news merchants
In order to free the public space against the incursion of undesirable elements and ensure public safety, Adamawa State commissioner of police, Dankwambo Morris, has deployed policemen around hotels in the state.
The CP also warns fake news merchants to stop their illicit trade or face the wrath of the law.

Our correspondent reports that the warning came on the heels of fake reports suggesting that two students of Federal College of Education (FCE) were beheaded.
A statement by the public relations officer of Adamawa State Police command, SP Sulaiman Nguroje made available to this medium noted that the new resolve of the CP will enhance public safety and security in Adamawa State.
“Adamawa state Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), has deployed the Command’s operational asset around Hotels for surveillance operations to checkmate criminal activities around it, as a further manifestation of the Command’s determination in providing conducive atmosphere for safety and Security in the state.
“These deployments, without doubt will surely assist in monitoring all Hotels and Accommodation facilities, prevent any attempt to Commit funny behaviors, Coordinate timely response to distress call and to clamp down on any attempt threatening the lives and property.
“The CP, has equally directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, to immediately ensure strategic deployment of officers and Operational Asset around Hotels in the state.
“The CP, while dismissing the claim on social media, that two FCE students were beheaded, advised members of the public to disregard such fake and false information as it is the handiwork of mischief makers who are out to disrupt the peace of the public and create unnecessary tension.
“The CP, further re-emphasized that, the presence of Police and other Security agents around Hotels are firm determination of the Command in Creating an enabling and well secured environment as such incidents didn’t happen anywhere in the state
“He further advised the Social Media bloggers to desist from anything that threatens the peace of the public and continue doing things in accordance with the extant laws,” the statement said.
