Inclusive education: FAWE unveils three train the trainers manuals in Adamawa
In it’s move to ensure inclusive education for all in Adamawa State, the Forum For African Women Educationalists (FAWE) Nigeria has on Monday unveiled three train the trainers manuals in Adamawa State.
The three manuals were produced with support from Strengthening Civil Society to enhance education for all in Northern Nigeria project, plan international, Civil Society Coalition Action on Education for All (CSACEFA) and EU-INTPA.

The three manuals include; the training of trainers manual on tsangaya reformation, training the trainers manual on gender responsive education sector planning and directory of women’s right, youth led and disability grassroots associations.
The manuals will provide the necessary insights and guide for the civil society organizations (CSOs) the state actors and even the general public on how to constructively engage and advocate for responsive education sector planning and tsangaya reformation in Adamawa State so as to carry everyone along as education is a fundamental right of every citizen.
Shedding light on the relevance of the three documents towards ensuring an all inclusive education, FAWE education officer in Adamawa, Ibrahim Bello said the documents will ensure a knowledge driven engagement by all the actors in the education sector towards the reformation of tsangaya system and responsive education sector planning in Adamawa State.
“The directory is a collection of different associations at the grass root level for women, youth and people with disability with different mandate. The document was developed following a mapping exercise at the community level to identify the existence of these organizations and groups and what they actually do and at the end of the exercise we were able to collect the information we had into the directory that has the names of the organizations and groups and where they are located their contacts and their objectives.
“The document is supposed to serve as a tool for ensuring inclusion in all decisions making process as it relates to education in Adamawa State. We hope that the manual will have multiplier effect. It will serve as a guide for further training both at organization and grassroot level. It will support knowledge sharing and knowledge retention and management and the directly will serve as useful guide for ensuring inclusion of women, youth and persons living with disability,” he said.
In his keynote address and the role of CSOs and other stakeholders, Dr Adamu Babikkoi, the special Adviser to governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Good Governance applauded FAWE for its indefatigable role at ensuring education for all in the state.
“These invaluable resources are a testament to the collective efforts of the Forum for African Women Educationalist (FAWE) Nigeria, Plan International Nigeria and the numerous stakeholders who have contributed to their development.
“The Tsangaya system of education, while deeply rooted in Islamic tradition, has faced significant challenges especially in recent years. The need for reform is undeniable, and the development of the ToT manuals on Tsangaya and GRESP are no doubt crucial steps towards achieving a more inclusive, equitable, and effective Tsangaya education,” he said.
He called on the CSOs and the general public to use the documents judiciously in order to ensure doing the needful so that no one is left behind in the pursuit of education.
Stakeholders from the education sector including line MDAs and CSOs all applauded FAWE for the epoch making event saying it will surely change the fortunes of education in the state.
