Sen. Girei expresses sadness over the death of elder statesman, Sen. Zwingina
An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Adamawa State, Sen. Abubakar Girei has expressed deep shock over the death of an elder statesman, Sen Jonathan Silas Zwingina who died on Wednesday following a protracted illness.
Girei said the death of the elder statesman marked the end of an era adding that Zwingina is an accomplished personality in conduct, character and education standing.

He noted that it will take a long time for Nigeria to fill the gaping vacuum left by Zwingina whose contributions to politics, education and governance will remain epochal and indelible the sands of time.
He noted that Nigeria will sorely missed the counsels and guidance of one of its finest sons especially at this critical stage of national development. He extended deep commiseration to the immediate family of the late elder statesman and Adamawa State government.
“God is indeed the greatest. About two months ago, we celebrated the 70th birthday of Distinguished Senator Prof. Jonathan Silas Zwingina. Since only the Almighty God gives and takes away life, I am short of words to express my sadness and shock at this irreparable loss of a friend, colleague, and very reliable political associate.
“As my brother, Senator Zwingina, transits to rest in perfect peace in the bosom of the good Lord, I pay my condolences to his dear wife, children, friends, and numerous associates at home and abroad. Once again, may the soul of Distinguished Senator Prof. Jonathan Silas Zwingina rest in perfect peace,” he said.
