Otumba Isn’t Iscariot, Challenges Judas’ (II)
…The reason for joining the 2023 governorship race was to salvage the state and serve the citizenry than self, as invited; that’s why I didn’t support the opposition candidate or the ruling party in the state against my party, the APC and the candidate simply because the party’s primaries didn’t favour me – Otumba
…My loyalty is to the party and the people’s, which is the popular call, I don’t belong to the egocentric loners with an overinflated sense of self-worth, maintaining an overambitious position that “if not me, let the candidate and the party lose the encounr…

The leadership, untypical of human development – to have enriched the state and citizenry – cutting off continuity in skills acquisition, youth and women empowerment schemes initiated by former governor Murtala Hammanyero Nyako, a.k.a Baba Maimangoro – considered to be the father of APC in Adamawa state – proved to be impoverishing, heinously famishing and intolerably suffocating, hence triggered the interest of those with the ability and capacity and capability to get the state out of the maze, Alhaji Umar Mustapha Madawaki, a.k.a Orumba of Etiki would articulate, revealing the reason for joining the 2023 governorship race in Adamawa state and why he surrendered his supports to the APC governorship candidate, the lone female yet the most favoured in the race, distinguished Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani.

Otumba accuses Fintiri of plotting to cause disharmony in Labor Party
“I temporarily dissociated myself from the APC after the 2023 governorship primaries, because, we as aspirants, were seemingly snubbed by the leadership of the party that could have honour our efforts and contributions, having spent our resources and strength, even the governorship candidate wasn’t initially acknowledged, it was like a celebration in mourning to have her.
“I decided to fly another party’s flag considering the avowed disapproval of Binani as a governorship candidate by some stakeholders of the party under the cover that she’s a lady, hence her participation in politics was an anathema; you could recall the anti-Binani call conveyed by some faction of Ulamas and the politically unethical ethnocentric propaganda that she’s a Fulbe project…
“Having been convinced that she’s flying the APC flag unpreventable, I withdrew from the race to give her the maximum support because we share the same spirit; to get the state out of the maze rather than to support misgovernance, ‘since I would not be flying my party’s flag’ obnoxious stance’,” Otumba articulated.
He said, “we’ve invested fortune to resuscitate the party from its hitherto comatose condition, when some stakeholders dressing themselves as the Alpha and Omega of the party, were luxuriating in slumber, in anticipation of the opportunity to occupy the party, to fly the flag and to have stronghold of the leadership of the party without labouring for it.
“The point is, none of us is a subservient to any financial master; we’re financially independent, intellectually sound and politically accepted by the citizenry across the state. It is therefore intolerable having the leadership of the party we laboured, to be hijacked by an individual group, there must be an all inclusive system review, lest the party’s condition degenerates into its hitherto comatose condition where we found it, it wouldn’t recover this time…”
