LND mourns victims of food distribution stampede, calls for strict crowd control measures
The League of Northern Democrats has expressed deep sadness over the stampedes that led to the death of dozens of Nigerians during various food distribution events.
A statement by Dr. Salihu Ladan, Land’s spokesman said is a poignant reminder of the excruciating hardship and hunger afflicting the Nigerian populace.

“LND extends its heartfelt condolences
to the families and communities affected by the recent tragic
incidents during food distribution exercises in Ibadan, Abuja, and
Anambra, which claimed 45 lives in stampedes.
“These heartbreaking events have left us deeply saddened. As Nigeria grapples with alarming levels of poverty, hunger, and destitution the generosity of individuals and organizations providing
relief to the vulnerable is highly commendable.
“However, these tragedies highlight the urgent need for safer, more effective methods of delivering assistance.
We urge all stakeholders – government agencies, non-governmental
organizations, religious bodies and community leaders – to adopt
measures that prevent such incidents, including,” he said.
