
LCCN extolls Nigerians over success of centennial convention
The leadership of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) has expressed heartfelt appreciation to all members of the church, dignitaries, and guests for their presence and contributions to the success of its 100th Annual Convention.
The historic convention, held from February 19th–23rd, 2025, took place at the Convention Ground in Demsa Local Government Area, Adamawa State. The event brought together church members, religious leaders, political figures, and international partners in a profound celebration of faith and unity.

In an official letter of appreciation, Archbishop Most Rev. Musa Panti Filibus, Ph.D., speaking on behalf of the Council of Bishops, Board of Trustees, and the entire leadership of LCCN, extended gratitude to all those who supported and participated in making the centennial convention a remarkable success.
Archbishop Panti specifically thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Deputy Governor Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, Chief of Staff Dr. Edgar Amos, and all members of the Adamawa State Executive Council for their support and presence at the event.
The church also appreciated the presence of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President, Archbishop Daniel C. Okoh, as well as former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Barr. Boss Gida Mustapha, the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Wesley Bathiya and both former and current members of the state legislature.
In addition, gratitude was extended to Senators Rev. Binos Dauda Yaroe, Aminu Iya Abbas, Rev. Amos Yohanna, and former Senator Ishaku Abbo, as well as serving and past members of the federal and state legislatures who graced the occasion.
The LCCN leadership acknowledged their main speaker, Rev. Sekenwa Moses Briska, Ph.D., along with other distinguished speakers who delivered impactful messages during the convention.
International ecumenical representatives from organizations such as the Lutheran World Federation, World Council of Churches (WCC), All Africa Conference of Churches, and mission partners were also recognized for their contributions and solidarity.
Archbishop Panti also commended political leaders, local government chairmen, and royal fathers from Adamawa and Taraba States, as well as leaders of other churches, including the General Secretary of the Fellowship of Churches of Christ in Nigeria (TEKAN), HEKAN President Rev. Amos Kiri, and Bishop Dr. Dami Mamza of the Catholic Diocese of Yola.
A special acknowledgment was given to security operatives in the military and paramilitary forces, the LCCN Board of Trustees, bishops, pastors, subgroups, staff, volunteers, and the Centennial Planning Committee for their tireless efforts in organizing the convention. Members of the press were also appreciated for their media coverage.
The church extended special gratitude to individuals such as Chief Maurice Vunobolki, Prince Adewale Adebayo (SDP Presidential Candidate 2023), Justice Nathan Musa, Chief Felix Tangwami, Mr. Caleb Andrew Myebangara, Prince Peter Fwa and many others for their exceptional contributions.
“Your steadfast support and presence at LCCN’s 100th Annual Convention were invaluable. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and generous contributions. Your support was instrumental in making this historic gathering a profound testament to faith and unity,” Archbishop Panti stated.
He emphasized that the church deeply appreciates the love and commitment shown by all, reminding them that the body of Christ flourishes through collective strength and shared purpose. He concluded by praying for God’s abundant blessings upon everyone who contributed to the success of the centennial convention.
