

Exuberant celebration marks Galadima’s formal entry into Adamawa guber race

A wave of excitement has on Thursday swept across Adamawa State capital as thousands of supporters thronged the streets of Jimeta to witness the formal declaration of Tijjani Ahmed Galadima for the 2027 governorship race, in what was described as the most vibrant political outing in recent times.
The event drew a massive turnout from all 21 local government areas of the state, with youths, women, and key stakeholders rallying behind the aspirant in a show of solidarity that underscored his growing grassroots appeal.

From early hours of the day, supporters converged at major locations in Jimeta, creating an electrifying atmosphere marked by chants, music, and colourful displays.
Notably, many young people and women groups used the occasion to announce the launch of crowdfunding initiatives aimed at supporting Galadima’s campaign logistics.
According to them, the move reflects a people-driven commitment to his candidacy and a shared vision for improved governance in the state.
One of the coordinators of the initiative explained that the decision to mobilize resources independently was borne out of their belief in Galadima’s leadership capacity. He noted that the effort represents their contribution towards building a more inclusive and equitable Adamawa State.
The procession, which stretched from the Yola International Airport through major roads to Atiku Abubakar Way, brought vehicular movement to a near standstill for several hours. The sheer volume of supporters, alongside party faithful and political allies, created significant traffic gridlock across many routes in the state capital.
Our reporter observed that the gathering cut across various segments of society including students, traders, professionals, and organized professional groups who expressed their total solidarity to Galadima’s aspiration.
Placards bearing messages of endorsement were visible throughout the crowd, while supporters chanted slogans expressing confidence in Galadima’s ability to usher in a new phase of socio-economic development.
Some youths who spoke to reporters described his declaration as a bold and timely step, expressing optimism that his candidacy would bring positive change to the state. They emphasized their readiness to canvass support across communities to ensure the success of his ambition.
One of the youth leaders, Ahmed Ismael, stated that they have already mapped out strategies to mobilize voters and resources. He stressed that the movement is driven by ordinary citizens who see the project as their collective responsibility.
The event, which lasted several hours attracted a turnout of critical stakeholders of the party including Bema Ovaldi, Maxwell Gidado, Reps Babazango and Ambassador Kelvin Peters who all pledged to use their grassroot network to ensure the success of the aspiration.
