The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate in Adamawa State, Ahmed Galadima Aminu, has expressed profound sorrow over the death of Dr. Sunny Sylvester Monidafe, popularly known as Jagaban Jimeta, a founding member and chieftain of the APC, describing his passing as a painful loss to the party, Adamawa State and the nation at large.
Galadima extends his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the leadership and members of the APC in Adamawa State, and most especially, His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the leader of the party in the state, over the departure of a distinguished politician, committed party builder and respected elder statesman.

A statement by Adamu Sambo, media aide to the governorship candidate said, Monidafe was far more than a politician; he was an institution in Adamawa politics whose courage, convictions, wisdom and unwavering commitment to democratic ideals earned him enduring respect across political and social divides.
As a founding member who played an important role in the merger that birthed the APC and its subsequent growth in Adamawa State and the North-East, Dr. Monidafe devoted his time, resources, intellect and voice to the advancement of the party.
His aspiration for the national chairmanship of the APC reflected his deep interest in the party’s development and his desire to contribute to its growth at the highest level. Through his political engagements, wise counsel and mentorship, he inspired many and demonstrated that politics, at its best, must be guided by character, principle, service and a genuine commitment to public good.
Galadima observes that the late Jagaban Jimeta will be sorely missed, particularly as the APC prepares for another electoral cycle in 2027. His wealth of experience, political insight, guidance and wise counsel would have been invaluable to the party as it consolidates its structures, strengthens internal unity and works towards victory at all levels.
While acknowledging the pain of this irreparable loss, Galadima urges the deceased’s family, the APC family and all those who mourn him to take solace in the fact that Dr. Monidafe lived a fulfilled life devoted to service, loyalty, sacrifice and humanity. His contributions to the party and his enduring place in the political history of Adamawa State will remain a source of inspiration long after his departure.
He prays God to forgive the shortcomings of the departed and give his immediate family, Governor Fintiri, the APC leadership and the entire Adamawa political community the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
