You’re a rare patriot, Kwankwaso hails Jada during visit to ‘One Nigeria Movement’ hqtrs

The vice-presidential candidate of the New Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has commended the founder and National Coordinator of the One Nigeria Movement, Hon. Umar Bello Jada, popularly known as Calculate, for what he described as his patriotism, visionary leadership and unflinching commitment to national unity.
Kwankwaso gave the commendation on Thursday during a courtesy visit to the national secretariat of the One Nigeria Movement at Enugu House, Abuja, where he praised the organisation’s growing role in promoting inclusive politics, grassroots mobilisation and national integration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The former Kano State governor described the movement as a promising national platform capable of fostering unity across Nigeria’s ethnic, religious and regional divides.
He particularly applauded Jada’s foresight in establishing the organisation, expressing confidence that the movement would evolve into a formidable force for national cohesion, cultural integration and constructive political engagement.
“Nigeria needs selfless patriots who are prepared to build bridges across divides and place national interest above sectional considerations. Hon. Umar Bello Jada has demonstrated that commitment, and I believe this movement has the potential to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s democratic development,” Kwankwaso said.
He added that the country requires platforms that unite citizens irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliations in order to address the nation’s governance challenges and strengthen democratic participation.
Receiving the former governor, Jada reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to its guiding philosophy of “One Nation, One Destiny, One Purpose, One Nigeria,” describing it as a practical framework for promoting peaceful coexistence, inclusive governance and national development.
He said the visit represented more than a routine courtesy call, noting that it symbolised a convergence of political vision and grassroots mobilisation in support of building a united and prosperous Nigeria.
According to him, the One Nigeria Movement is committed to abridge Nigeria’s traditional political fault lines by promoting shared citizenship, national cohesion and issue-based political engagement.
Jada explained that the organisation has deliberately built a leadership structure that reflects regional balance, gender inclusion and broad national representation.
He said the movement’s national leadership comprises of distinguished Nigerians from all walks of life. According to Jada some of the leaders of the movement include; Prince Peter C. Okoronkwo, National Secretary, Alhaji Ali Abacha, National Organising Secretary, Dr. Obinna Simon (Tagwaye), National Publicity Secretary, Aisha Tanko Yakasai, National Women Organising Secretary, while High Chief Dumololu J. Briggs serves as Grand Patron. While Senator Ahmed Barata and Dr. Umez O. Umez are Patrons for the North and South respectively.
Also speaking, Senator Hassan Barata said the composition of the movement’s leadership demonstrates its commitment to build a truly national platform capable of mobilising Nigerians across political, ethnic and religious divides.
He noted that under Jada’s leadership, the organisation has consistently championed politics anchored on national development, social inclusion and democratic participation rather than sectional interests.
Barata expressed confidence that the movement’s nationwide grassroots network and expanding support base would play a significant role in mobilising support for the Obi-Kwankwaso presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.
He added that the movement’s message of unity, inclusion and national renewal continues to resonate with Nigerians seeking a new political direction.
