FMC B-Kudu moves to enhance healthcare delivery, conducts training for staff
The management of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Birnin Kudu in Jigawa State has commenced a comprehensive two-day training program for 93 members of its staff. The training aims to enhance their skills, boost morale, and improve efficiency in healthcare service delivery.
Speaking at the event in Birnin Kudu on Tuesday, the Medical Director of the facility, Dr. Adamu Abdullahi Atterwharmie, emphasized the importance of continuous staff development. He stated that the initiative aligns with the hospital’s commitment to ensure that its personnel remain competent and resilient in addressing healthcare challenges. He further assured that the management would continue to invest in staff training to maintain high standards of healthcare service delivery.

Dr. Atterwharmie highlighted that the development and welfare of staff are key priorities of his administration. He reaffirmed the commitment to sustaining and expanding training programs to cover more personnel and additional areas within administrative and medical sciences. He urged the participants to pay close attention to the training content and make the best use of the knowledge acquired to enhance their professional competence.
The training program covers five thematic areas critical to healthcare service delivery. These include:
1. Professional Ethics in Healthcare Practice – Addressing the moral and ethical responsibilities of healthcare professionals.
2. Supervisory Management and Performance Evaluation – Providing insights into effective supervision and performance assessment in line with the Performance Management System (PMS).
3. Medico-Legal Issues in Clinical Practice – Educating staff on legal matters related to medical practice to minimize professional risks.
4. An Overview of the Pension Reform Act and Entrepreneurship for Retirement Preparation – Equipping participants with financial planning and business skills for life after public service.
5. An Overview of the Reviewed Public Service Rules (2021) – Updating staff on the latest regulations governing public service.
Reports from the training indicated that well-researched papers were presented on each topic, followed by interactive question-and-answer sessions. The training was conducted by MB Amin Global Nigeria Ltd., a reputable consulting firm known for its expertise in capacity-building initiatives.
The resource persons engaged for the program include; Alhaji Ahmed Aminu Muazu, Professor Aisha Indo Mamman, Dr. Hadiya Aliyu, and Adamu Sarki Namai-Jaki, all of whom brought extensive knowledge and experience to the training sessions.
