Sen. Yaroe treats 2,000 patients at Ndikong, unveils upgraded mobile hospital

The Senator representing Adamawa South Senatorial District, Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, has unveiled an upgraded mobile hospital equipped with modern medical facilities as part of efforts to expand access to quality healthcare services among residents of his constituency.
The new mobile hospital was commissioned on Saturday at Ndikong community in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, where nearly 2,000 residents received free medical treatment, including at least 10 day-care surgeries.

The intervention is the latest in a series of medical outreaches undertaken by Yaroe since his emergence as senator, with his medical team taking free consultations, laboratory services, medications, surgeries and other specialist interventions to communities across the nine local government areas that make up Adamawa South.
Speaking during the commissioning at Ndikong, Yaroe said improving the health and wellbeing of his constituents remained one of his foremost priorities, stressing that access to healthcare was fundamental to the quality of life of the people.
He said his interventions were driven by the desire to bring relief to people who might otherwise be unable to afford medical treatment, particularly residents of rural communities.
Yaroe assured constituents of Adamawa South that he would remain committed to initiatives aimed at improving their living conditions and providing tangible benefits of democratic representation.
The Binos Medical Outreach Coordinator, Dr Jama Medan, said the upgraded mobile hospital was fitted with modern medical equipment and offered greater capacity than the previous facility.
According to him, the new facility would complement the existing mobile hospital, enabling the medical team to reach more communities and extend free healthcare services to residents in hard-to-reach areas.
He said the initiative was part of a broader effort by the senator to ensure that residents of the nine local government areas in Adamawa South had access to medical care without the burden of prohibitive costs.
The Lead Consultant, Dr Adediran Charles Adekola, said nearly 2,000 patients were attended to during the Ndikong outreach, with no fewer than 10 day-care surgeries conducted.
Adekola said the outreach was distinguished by the availability of improved medical facilities and a multidisciplinary team capable of handling a wide range of cases.
He disclosed that more than 40 medical personnel participated in the exercise at the Ndikong Primary Healthcare Centre, adding that the medical interventions were successfully delivered.
The Ndikong exercise is part of a medical outreach programme that has been running for several years.
Sen. Yaroe began his constituency medical intervention in 2019 and has taken the programme to communities across the nine local government areas of Adamawa South.
During an earlier outreach covering Lamurde, the medical team said more than 64,000 patients had been attended to in the preceding eight outreaches.
In 2024, an outreach at Bare in Numan Local Government Area treated about 1,000 indigent patients, with medical services including surgeries, ophthalmology, laboratory tests, ultrasound scans and ECG examinations provided free of charge.
The programme has also recorded significant interventions in other communities. In Banjiram, Guyuk LGA, about 1,500 residents were treated, with more than 10 surgeries performed.
In Borrong, Demsa LGA, a 2025 outreach reportedly attended to 1,850 outpatients and carried out 67 surgeries.
Another outreach in Mayo-Farang in June 2025 treated 845 patients and recorded 21 successful surgeries, according to the medical team.
More recently, a four-day mega outreach in Demsa was reported to have treated more than 12,000 people, underscoring the scale of the senator’s continuing healthcare intervention.
The Managing Director of Ivbalk Nigeria Limited, Mr Mohammed Yakamata, commended Yaroe for his sustained commitment to address the healthcare needs of his constituents.
Yakamata said the partnership supporting the medical intervention demonstrated the importance of collaboration in delivering healthcare services to underserved communities.
The Facility Manager of Ndikong Primary Healthcare Centre, Dr Simon Kauna, described the exercise as unprecedented in the history of the community, saying it was the first time residents had received such extensive free medical services.
He thanked the senator for bringing the intervention to the community and providing residents with access to services that many could otherwise struggle to afford.
Similarly, the Sole Administrator of Ndikong, Mr Joshua Albert, commended Yaroe for responding to the healthcare needs of residents, saying the outreach would contribute to the wellbeing of people in the community.
The Binos Campaign Coordinator for Mayo-Belwa LGA, Hon. Abalis Yoila, urged residents of Ndikong and other communities in Adamawa South to continue supporting the senator, linking the medical intervention to what he described as tangible dividends of democratic representation.
One of the beneficiaries, Malam Abubakar Fulani, said he visited the health centre simply to seek treatment and was unaware of who had sponsored the exercise.
He said he was surprised when he learnt that Yaroe was behind the intervention.
“Only Senator Binos can do that for his people,” he said.
The mobile hospital and ambulance serving Adamawa South were procured by the Federal Government through the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI), Ilorin, and contracted to Ivbalk Nigeria Limited, with the initiative sponsored by Senator Yaroe.
The concept is intended to complement conventional health facilities by taking medical services directly to communities where access to hospitals and specialist care remains limited.
With the commissioning of the upgraded facility at Ndikong, the senator’s medical team is expected to deploy both mobile hospitals to widen its coverage across Adamawa South.
The initiative comes against the backdrop of Yaroe’s longstanding emphasis on healthcare as a central component of his constituency intervention programme, with previous outreaches recording thousands of beneficiaries across the senatorial district.
