Adamawa police nab suspected human trafficker, rescue two female victims
The Adamawa State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in its intensified campaign against human trafficking with the arrest of a suspected trafficker and the rescue of two young female victims.
According to a press release issued on Thursday, November 13, 2025, operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID), Yola, apprehended 40-year-old Hamza Hammantukur Isa following credible intelligence.

The suspect, a resident of Bauchi Street in Yola North Local Government Area, is alleged to specialize in trafficking young girls from Adamawa State to the Republic of Ghana under the guise of offering them lucrative job opportunities.
Police authorities disclosed that the operation led to the successful rescue of two victims, aged 18 and 19, who were found unharmed. Preliminary investigations indicate that Isa has been involved in human trafficking since 2023, during which he confessed to facilitate the trafficking of at least ten young girls.
He reportedly worked in collaboration with two female accomplices who are currently on the run.
The Command revealed that efforts have been intensified to track down the fleeing accomplices to ensure thorough investigation, diligent prosecution, and the potential rescue of other victims who may still be on transit or held abroad.
“Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the officers of the SID for their swift and coordinated action,” the statement said.
He emphasized that the command remains unwavering in its commitment to safeguarding residents from criminal activities just as he assured the public that all suspects involved in the trafficking rings will be brought to justice.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who signed the statement on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, urged the public to remain vigilant and continue to provide useful information that could assist in dismantling criminal networks across the state.
